Reach Out.

Many months ago a friend told me about 6 Months to Live, a blog about living a meaningful and authentic life.  I was smitten by the work.  It felt like there were clues and encouragement embedded in it just for me.  And it so happened that Jacqueline Boone, the writer and force behind the philosophy, lived here in San Francisco.

I decided to reach out.  I wrote to her. . . and she wrote back!  I was completely giddy, connecting with this woman who was living boldly and writing about it and making short films about people who inspired her.  I was on the cusp of change in my life and I took it as an encouraging sign that she wrote back to me.  Not only that, but I pitched an idea for a guest post for her blog. . .  and she was interested!  It’s powerful when someone is interested in what you have to say.

This is the post I wrote: How to Make Hard Decisions.  I’m so happy to be featured on her blog!  And I can hardly believe it.  The cocktail of inspiration, action, connection, and creation is incredibly delicious.

Jacqueline is now traveling the world, but I’m happy to say that before she set sail we were able to meet in person for coffee, champagne, and delicious dessert at one of my favorite cafes.  It was an afternoon of laughter and connection, of feeling encouraged and inspired.

You never know what might happen when you reach out.  You might find a new friend, receive unexpected encouragement, or create a spark that helps illuminate your own path.

Be curious.  Savor all of it.
